(Garfield Heights, OH)---The new Fatburger in Garfield Heights, located at 5686 Transportation Blvd, opened its doors on September 12th. Franchisees and childhood best friends Mark Holz and David Schneider have an agreement to open at least 15 Fatburger restaurants throughout Cleveland, Akron/Canton, and Columbus, Ohio over the next four to five years. The first restaurant, located in the East Gate Shopping Center in Mayfield Height opened this June. A lease for a third location on Cleveland’s West Side is close to being inked for an early spring opening.
Holz and Schneider returned to Cleveland because they saw the city’s economy as hungry for a restaurant concept that would provide both job opportunities and tasty hamburgers to the people of the city. “Fatburger is a great fit for Cleveland because of the lack of quality quick casual establishments that serve hamburgers. Fatburger caters to someone wanting a quality product quickly at an affordable price,” said Schneider. It is estimated that the newest Fatburger will provide approximately 45 jobs to the community.
Fatburger is a quick-casual, takeout and sit-down restaurant serving big, fresh lean-beef burgers cooked-to-order on an open grill. The taste and quality of Fatburgers inspires a fierce loyalty among customers that crosses all demographic lines, including Hollywood personalities and sports stars.
Fatburger’s spacious restaurants feature a hip ’50s-style décor accented with bright colors, neon lighting, stainless steel accents, various memorabilia and a digital juke box. The signature 1/3 lb. grilled Fatburger can be served with a wide variety of toppings including, chili, bacon and even fried egg. The Fatburger costs $4.09 whereas a similar quality burger with parallel customer service would cost twice as much and take twice as long at a competitor’s restaurant.
Schneider, who owns the popular Parallax restaurant in Cleveland, will bring his fine dining methodologies and philosophies to a quick casual concept. Mark, with a background in internet and software development, applies his business savvy to the venture. Mark and David were familiar with Fatburger from time spent in L.A. and felt it was the best burger bar none. The duo knew there was a place for the concept in the meat and potatoes Midwest and they wanted to be the ones to bring it there. “Fatburger has been a welcome addition to other communities because of our commitment to taste, quality and service. We look forward to becoming an important part of the Cleveland community,” Holz said.
